Family Bio
“A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” – Lao Tzu
Ox Overland started as a team of guys that set out to retrace the historic Oregon Trail in their overland vehicles. As with most things in life what began as a once in a life time expedition evolved into a way of life for the Ham clan. Our small family will be the new evolution of Outlaw Xpeditons as we spend half a year traveling through South America in an attempt to explore the world and strengthen our family as we go. The plan is to ship our vehicle (Lexus GX470) and Trailer from Florida to Santos, Brazil where our journey will begin. From there we'll be making a giant horseshoe through Argentina, Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Equidor, Columbia then shipping back to L.A, and driving home to Portland OR. It's an ambitious goal especially with two young kids but we told ourselvs we'd never let family life slow us down or keep us from exploring the world so here we GO!!

Transportation
The Vehicles
It seems for all explorers their vehicle becomes not just a mode of transportation but an expression of themselves. We are no different our modern day oxen are not only the power behind our wagon train but our homes and the machines in which we rely on. The modifications are infinite as we hone our rigs down to accommodate the terrain, the family and the time we spend out exploring the South America's backcountry. We have chosen carefully our mode of overland vehicle and taken the time to outfit and prepare for the adventure that awaits

Oregon Trail Off-Road Team
"Behind every great expedition there is a team humbled in their accomplishments and grateful for the experience."
It was trip like no other and I don't think a day goes by where we don't think about those precious days on the trail. We planned we prepped, took off down the Oregon Trail and conquered what we set out to do. We retrace the footsteps of the old Oregon Trail Pioneers and traveled some 4500 miles of dirt for 44 days and saw the country how they did now almost 200 years ago. It was a unique experience most will never experience in their lifetime and although we may never see the trail again together not one of us regrets the brotherhood we found along the trail.
